I think we should be trying to sign boa morte over downing. I know that downing is young english talent but from what I saw on saturady we had no muscle and downing does not help us in that dept well as boa morte is quick, built like brick s***house and experienced and most probably alot cheaper

yeah i agree with that to a certain extent..i just wonder who would provide and create more chances...it was alarmingly obvious how easily we were out muscled against bolton...

I was at the Real Sociedad friendly and our performance at Bolton seemed at the same level. The friendly results may have fooled a lot of the players into thinking that they had already reached a required level of output.

Petrov is not for sale, said the boss of Athletico Madrid.
So, I'd bet that we are going to bid for Downing - similarly to Lennon, Dawson, and Jenas, he's an English young talent and spurs line is to buy such players.

I've reckon we are going for Boa Morte, offer Foolham £8m for him and Malbranque. Coleman clearly don't want Steed he'd give us more attacking options from midfield and we might get him on the cheap as he's out of favour.

That's not a bad shout actually - a double bid for Steed and Boa, even though they aren't world class players they could both improve the squad, for a relatively cheap sum of cash, and they could under the guidance of the Yid's and the Cockerel become much better players.

I'd rather have one world class player than 2-3 good players. We have the money to buy top players, so let's try. If we are to challenge for the title in 2-3 years, as is our goal according to Jol, we have to buy high quality footballers. The likes of Tainio, Ghaly, Murphy etc are not good enough to bring us in the CL.

We got fooled into thinking that Bolton would play in the same way as teams from the continent, which was a silly mistake to make. If any team in the Premiership is a perfect example of what seperates the Premiership from the rest of the world, it is Bolton. One of the most physical teams in the country.

I think that we didn't underestimate Bolton but the start of the game was just so terrible that our young team was shocked and could not show what it is capable of. The first goal wasn't our fault and the second was due to a very rare mistake.

Yeah. The 2 goals were freak and wouldn't normally happen.
Making up 2 goals against a team like Bolton is a serious task.
