So after Celtic failed to reduce the deficit sufficiently against Braga last night, we now have our 5 potential opponents for the CL play offs starting next tuesday/wednesday (from the unseeded pot):

UEFA Champions League play-off round - League Route

Seeded
Sevilla FC (ESP)
Werder Bremen (GER)
FC Zenit St. Petersburg (RUS)
Tottenham Hotspur FC (ENG)
AFC Ajax (NED)

Unseeded
FC Dynamo Kyiv (UKR)
SC Braga (POR)
UC Sampdoria (ITA)
AJ Auxerre (FRA)
BSC Young Boys (SUI)

Out of the potential opponents I would like to avoid Dinamo Kiev.

For those who are interested, the other draw looks like this:

UEFA Champions League play-off round - Champions Route

Seeded
FC Basel 1893 (SUI)
RSC Anderlecht (BEL)
FC København (DEN)
Hapoel Tel-Aviv FC (ISR)
AC Sparta Praha (CZE)

Unseeded
Rosenborg BK (NOR)
FC Salzburg (AUT)
FK Partizan (SRB)
MŠK Žilina (SVK)
FC Sheriff (MDA)

And just to clear up the technicalities:

Introduced for the 2009/10 edition, the play-offs consist of ten clubs in both the Champions and League Routes vying for a place in the group stage. The field for the Champions Route is made up exclusively of sides that came through the third qualifying round. The League Route features the five winners from that stage plus the fourth-placed sides from the associations ranked 1 to 3 and the third-placed teams from the associations ranked 4 and 5.

Balls containing the clubs that have been seeded according to the UEFA club coefficient rankings will be placed in one bowl, with balls of the unseeded clubs placed in another. A ball will be taken from each bowl and placed in a large empty bowl in the middle, where they will be shuffled. The first team drawn will play its first match at home, against the second team drawn.

Why does the other draw look so much easier than ours?

There seems to be confusion over this. SSN and various other sourses are reporting that the unseeded teams we could face are:

Young Boys
Braga
Ajax
Zenit
D Kiev

Other sources are stating what you have just posted GG...

Seriously confused.....:stoned:

Did you get the info from the official UEFA website or someting?

the version gg gave is the correcct one. it is on the spurs website.

wouldnt mind young boys.

i presume the draw is not on tv and will have to watch it online like mjbmedia said.

was watching zenit play rubin kazan on espn and defending wise zenit were appaling. it would have been bad if we played zenit or kiev in their winter.

love to see pav score a hattrick against zenit.

but unfortunately we wont be able to play zenit.

Would like to avoid Kiev simply to avoid having a long away trip in such a busy & important part of the season

As long as we avoid samp we should get through young boys or braga would be ideal. Auxerre arent up to much either. Wouldnt fancy kiev they have loads of champions league experience and a certain andrey shevchenko. Samp are the only team as good as us id hate to face cassano and pazzini.

Fvck it, this is why we wanted CL football? To play the best teams and lets be honest none of these teams or great, if we can't qualify against any of these sides than we really don't deserve CL football.

agree, but lets play those best teams in the league format when we at least then get 6 matches, some great experience, a large wad of cash and enormous respect.
If we get say Kiev now it could be over due to one bit of sloppiness and people will say we were just pretenders, get into the league and we've done ourselves proud.
