Im being told that Ledley has broken his foot.:(
I'm hoping this is not the case as it would definately end his season:( , possibly end his World Cup hopes:( , and possibly destroy the dream that I am only just starting to believe in:( .
What are we to do without our inspirational skipper?
Not only that but it seems Gardner could be out for the next game too.
If this turns out to be right, as we have nothing from the club yet, then I think I will cry.

I don't think he broke his foot, but even if he did it's not the end of the world mate. We are not a 1 man team like the scum around the corner. In truth Ledley needs surgery, because he's been carring an injury all season so him missing the world cup could be good for us next season, then he could get all fixed up and be ready for our european football run.

The Sun and Independant are saying broken ankle. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

nothing about the nature or seriousness of the injury, definitely nothing on the official site. if there has been any diagnosis, which there must be some by now, why would they delay its announcement? hmm... anyway, i guess its all gonna be known after the ManU clash.

I have my sources.
They are delaying it until its official, with the scans. It could be a number of things still, fracture, even a just a small break. I think he is out for the season now.
Even if he was in pain for playing would he keep going for the sake of our CL bid? Is it even plausible that we should consider playing him if not 100%? He's also been carrying suspected groin and/or knee problems too...
If this keeps him out the World Cup i've a nagging feeling he could blame the club for pushing him too hard and then leave, I can see that being the same reason Defoe leaves if he misses out on a place too, obviously not being used enough though.

Ledley King has a stress fracture on the fourth metatarsel of his left foot. Will be out for 3-4 weeks. Will Sven take a risk on him for the world cup? who knows. All I know is we're buggered without his calmness at the back. I think players like Dawson and Gardner play a lot better with him beside them.
I'm sure Keane will do a great job as captain, and you can already see his leadership qualities against Everton, but I just think Ledley is one of those players we needed to be fit until the end of the season.
I hope they prove me wrong

yeah shame with probably 3 hardest games to come. the scums CL exploits might prove the saving grace. Have to fight for a point today. If sunderland can do it, so can we. Still think he'll take ledders for world cup, i sure as hell would.

I not comfy with the idea of having Gardner playing for the last games? Isn't Huddlestone a centre-back before midfielder. He looks like he would do a better job of replacing ledley.
While it would keep him fresh for next season, I'd cetainly be sorry not to see Ledley at the world cup, and really prove himself as one of the worlds top defenders.

Huddlestone would be the one to come in and do those Ledley King passes out to the wings. His passing in game is impeccable, spreads the ball with ease. Only thing is he hasn't played at back for Spurs, for me it is Dawson and Davenport, just not Gardner. Whilst he has done well in the last two games, I dont like him being there. Davenport needs to prove, as would Huddlestone actually, that they are worthy of being in the first team squad.
Not only that but last time Dawson and Gardner played together we let in three before the half hour.

Gardner is doubtfull so id like to see Davenport come in and show us what he's got, we've seen him in the reserves and at England under-21 level and he's been quality. Give him his chance to prove himself.

I was gutted by that news, but we must have faith in Dawson and one other.

Just read Jols comment that Ledders ain't necessarily out of the World Cup, which is good news, but I wonder if Sven rates him highly enough to pick him regardless of fitness? Maybe a space there for Dawson following his sterling work today?

I don't think Sven even considers that King is a defender anymore, maybe if Terry or Rio is injured fair enough, but I think he is first choice holding mid.

Let him have a rest and get all his operations done. if he misses the world cup it will be a shame but least he'll be fresh for next season.

King may be a fantastic player but Davenport proved against Utd he is capable of filling in. we have plenty of depth in our team whereas Arseanl on the other hand don't. We can cope with this injury
