View Full Version : Mido - Worry

Is anyone worried that if Mido signs a contract at Spurs he'll once again be in the comfort zone and we won't see the same player. His weight will balloon up again etc...
We all know Jol told him to get in shape for the last pre-season and he did. But should we sign him permanently?

Mido is effective on his day but often thinks the team revolve around him. I would prefer a target man with a bit more quality if we are going to shell out a lot of cash... easier said than done though

yeah spot on. i think his recent performances have been well below par, and distinctly lacked commitment. Whether that's down to contract problems or not i don't know. But Jol should be able to motivate him above that, and that is my concern. He looks permanently unfit, and looked well out of form against blackburn and newcastle. Somehow he doesn't have that desire he had at the start of the season, and i'd be expecting to see that from every player you put out on the park.

I think at the start of the season, he was giving everything as he wanted a permanent deal. I think he's a bit annoyed that Spurs haven't done more to sign him as yet... maybe there's truth in the Cisse rumours in Januray as Mido has been sh** since then

I don't think that we mast worry about Mido.
He is good player,no doubt. But Jol can buy for this money or a little more better striker like Dimitar Berbatov.Mido last serveral games don't make anything special and play very bad.

Boffo,
We've been linked with Berbatov. What can you tell us about him?

From what I have seen his weight has increased in the last month. At home he seems interested but away ( like newcastle ) it seems like he doesnt care and couldn't be bothered.

I hope we sign him, I like him as a bloke and a player, think Jol has got him 100% under control too and remember he's only 23.

Dimitar Berbatov is Bulgaria big football star now, he is born 30.01.1981g.
For CSKA Sofia he have 89 games/70 goals. For national team he have from 49 games/33 goals.
He is palyer like Ruud V. Nistelrooy .He play great whit Head,in Premiership maybe only Alan hearer play better from "Berbo" whit head.Have good technique. But don't have speed. Also have wonderfull shot hard and technique. This season for Bayer have 18 goals.

Yea we have to buy him, he's done well and any fears should be put to one side. Agreed his form has dipped but this in no way indicates whether it is due to contractual arguements, for all we know he didn't have his favoured pre-match meal. Now is a very pressurized time for the players on the pitch, the weight of expectation for a 22 year-old must be alot to deal with. He seems to know what the club is about, and I think he has done and will continue to do us proud.
Then again, if the price is too much we may as well splash out and buy someone better. If it's Torres I will literally walk to White Hart Lane to get the name printed.

Personally, i think tat Mido is a good player. No doubt! But, he does not have wat it takes 2 make it big in Spurs i.e. Lineker or Kilnsmann.
We need a proven player to lead our attack. As such, i think that Mido has 2 leave for spurs 2 reach peak form.

Mido has done the job for us this year BUT we can do better. DL has to balance wages fees etc dont know much about Berbatov but stats look impressive. Will leave it to the experts (probably resign Rasaik). Would have liked El Ham to get a run in the team looked promising

I think Mido if handled correctly can be a Big Big player for over the next few years. My only worry is when he's on the pitch our style of play is completely based on his ability in the air. I believe were capable of becoming a great team but to do this we must learn to mix up our style of play. Maybe its time to give Murphy a start to get robbie into the sort of areas that he can do the damage.

Id say the way we should look at things is.....
If Jol is gonna sign him he would have done so by now, unless he has a clause that we dont know about, with Roma for first refusal!! If so theres plenty of time to get him!!
if not, dont worry about it my fellow Spurs fans!!! Dirk Kuyt will be on his way, he sounds like a good all round player!!
World cup 2006....... Dirk Kuyt....Watch that space!!!! :D
or then Dimitar Berbatov...... maybe this player... sounds like someone who could really take the Premiership by storm!!
Either way, i cant wait till next season already!!

Maybe we don't need to sign anyone, Mido goes back to Roma and Rasiak comes back off his loan spell...to score a hat-trick in the FA Cup final, someone give me the odds on this happening......
