Just read on skysports that rafa marquez is for sale and galatasaray are credited with interest in him. I think he would be a fantastic signing as he can play both in central defence and in the holding midfield position. He has bags of CL experience and would provide an alternative to king. Id pay ten million or so to get him on board and make him our joint highest paid player.

a class player, would be a great addition.

I'm a little bit disappointed, I was expecting a influx of world class players coming to Spurs, but still only rumours bouncing about no certain signings :-(

Sandro's still not up on the spurs player profiles.

When do you guys think they'll start announcing signings?
I'm fed up of all the rumours

Give it a week or so and we should at least know about joe cole. Id say things will hot up soon as we will want to have all our new signings registered for the cl qualifiers. The registration takes place a week or two before the season starts methinks.

10m? I wouldn't pay 10m for a player who is 31 near 32 and then make him our highest paid player. Not good buisness imo.

Like the idea of utility play for the squad, but realistically he's not getting in the first team. CB has Dawson, Bassong, King(when fit) Kaboul, Woodgate(maybe) and Micah Richards if all the ITK is to be believed.

DM however only really has Palacios and Sandro. Could do with one more there I guess, but at £10m it's a bit steep.

I just think champions league experience is key and he has bags of it. Classy player and as good as king and daws imo. Unless palacios improves on the end of last season id have him ahead of wilson aswell. Palacios was a loose cannon at the end of the season. Marquez has unreal passing, heading and positional play.

if he is up for sale then i can well imagine him going to Galatasaray. he will cost a fair bit and be on top whack every week and the turks do tend to throw a lot of money at football plus the Rijkaard link is there. that said he is still a fantastic player and i wouldnt be disappointed if he was signed up

I think he could do a Davids for us if he was so inclined. I don't think he is so inclined, and we don't need to pay a lot i terms of transfer fee or wages for the experience he could add.

Just not a position we have a weakness in, neither CB nor defensively at CM.

If Richards does come, which would be an investment in a young British player, I imagine it's due to Woody's future being very uncertain, and King liable to break down at any moment.

couldnt have summed it up any better.

although he is on big bucks and i dont think that he will want to take a pay cut, especially as he is not going to waltz straight into the first team.
