Who would you take from this lot?

Chelsea are planning a squad clearout that will see Deco, Ricardo Carvalho, Paulo Ferreira, Juliano Belletti and Joe Cole leaving the club.

Carvalho to replace Woodgate? Belletti's a good RB isn't he? And I'd always take Joe Cole!

We've been linked with Carvalho before - how old is he now? I'd have no problem with him and Joe Cole.

None of them

Happy as we are.

But what if Woody never recovers? And a few on here are voicing a desire to improve on Corluka.

Personally, I would only have Belletti and that is only as cover for Corluka.

Cole wouldn't fit our system he suits more of a 4-3-3 (but there is news that Redknapp is going to be trying new formations, pending summer aquisitions), plus we would have to sell an always improving Bentley. We cannot have 3 England quality Right Wingers, it would just be throwing wages away that could be spent improving key areas, plus our current wage structure would put Cole on silly money over some of our best players. Granted, he can play on the left, but we are covered there too with Modders/Bale. Just seems kinda silly to me...

Carvalho is slow. No doubt about it, he is getting on abit too - so why settle for a player that is only going to go downwards in his career (like Joe Cole...)

Ferriera. Just no. The first half of the Spurs v Chelsea match proves just how shit he is. Bale is a phenominal player, but we will be playing these week in- week out in the CL. Ancelotti packed his bags for him at h/t when he was subbed against us.

Deco. Passed it, by a long fvcking way. He has shown flashes of his brilliance, but I would think that we can get better players who want less money....

If Woody never recovers then we have Dervitte who hasn't really had a chance, obviously he is no 'replacement' for Woody, but King and Daws are just as good as him.

And as for the Corluka haters, its unfounded but Kaboul has done a job there

Shuffling the pack will only unsettle the dynamics we have as he head into our most important season in quite some time

NO old timers from Chelski thank you very much!

Exactly how many RBs are needed? We've got 5(including Kaboul), even if 2 are on loan. Naughton's an U21 player, who seems to have cost a hefty fee. If anyone, he's the back-up to Corluka.

There's none of those players I'd be interested in. Most are at the tailend of their careers, and even Cole wouldn't fit in with the players we have. If we didn't have Modric, there would be a vacancy to fill.

Only Joe Cole.

Only Joe Cole.

Where would you play him? Does he injury record suggest he deserves over 100 grand a week?

I honestly don't believe we need him especially when we have Modric already.

Corluka has never convinced me, he gets beaten too often and too easily. On the other side I'm in two minds about BAE who can make silly mistakes but is young enough to improve.

I'd write Woodgate off for now. If he comes back, great, but plan for him to be out because he has serious injury problems. Kaboul is a great player to have because he can play centre back or cover at right back.

We don't need more attacking midfielders IMO.

I'd get shot of Jenas (don't Inter want him?) and Corluka and try and find a good right back and a penalty box striker to convert all the chances we create. Other than that leave it as is. This is a young, improving side. Bolster it but don't tinker too much.

Provided the wages/transfer fees are reasonable I would love to have Belletti and Carvalho.

Why? We have enough RBs superior to Belletti, whilst Carvalho is on his last legs and has missed a lot of the season. With the latter, you'd almost be replacing Woody with his older brother.

The only advantage to Belletti is singing "chim chiminey chim chim cheroo, Nayim from 50 yards, Belletti from 2".

Come off it!

Belletti!! He's not all that!

Carvalho yes, I do rate him, but seriously, if he signs he'll expect to start and I dont think anyone should make way for him.
