a spurs player come 31 August?
I honestly think Jewel will regret not selling him for a reasonable amount of money given that chimbonda has only had one season in the premiership, albeit a good one. 6 million would have been more acceptable after another good season from the full back. Jewel has intimated recently that his value could rise given the strength of his perfomances..is he referring to Wigan's preseason (how many people watch wiagn's preseason bar wigan fans!) Furthermore is he aware of market forces..not to many people seem to be chasing him (apart from whu ages ago). I can understand his frustration over the way Chimbonda submitted his transfer request and he seems determined to get a favourable deal for him as a result. I have a feeling though he would like to cash in on chimbonda and strengthen his own squad before the deadline as opposed to having a player who is
a) unhappy and not fully commietted;
b) paying a player of that quality in their reserves.

anyone else have thoughts on this?

Jewell and Levy are playing hardball with eachother and I think ultimately they are waiting to see which one buckles first. Stubborn, stubborn people.

but which way do you reckon it will go?

I don't think Levy is playing hardball, just that he doesn't want to pay more than a player is worth.

I don't think we'll be signing him anymore and I think Jewell is a funny bar steward I mean 4.5 mil for a fullback who's only had 1 good season and he turns it down it's laughable. Jewell will definately regret it when they get relegated and lose a shat load of doe and he leaves for 1 or 2 mil

jewell is underpressure to bring and atract players to wiganas we seen as the season finished so many players opted to leave wigan, for teams who didnt do as well as wigan? i mean chimbonda was on div 2 wages, so who cud blame him 4 signing an improvement, by xmas he was the talk of prem, dont think hell be a spurs player as jewell knows spurs will be even more equiped, and yeah lets see where wigan r com xmas this time round... coys

This deal is dead! He isn't going to be a Spurs player anymore this year, MAYBE in January. Feel sorry for Chimbo to be stuck at Wigan though. But he's got only himself to blame I think...

Hope this is a blessing in disguise and he really is an average player this season for Wigan.
You have to admit Wigan may have overachieved and we should see how Chimbonda is rated in January when they are in the bottom half of the table.

He's told SSN he's staying and happy for the moment. I don't think we'll sign him at all now anyway.
