Theres not alot of us that woud disagree that we need a bigger ground,so what capacity do you think we could fill week in week out.I think 50k-55k would be big enough but if we become regular in europe then 60k could become realistic. If the Times preview is believed that we have 20k on the waiting list for a season ticket then that would be 45k season ticket holders...what do my fellow yids think.................COYS

The 20k was released by the club, so it's a real number. However, I seem to remember half season tickets available a couple of seasons ago, implying some of our fans are not so faithful...
Fact is we sell out almost every game, even pre-season, so the number of seats we can fill on a match basis is significant. I would pitch at 55 - 60k for big games, 45-50k on a regular basis. If we get a run of success in Europe/the league and/or the CL, we could guaruntee these numbers.

I think with the progress we've made over the last couple of seasons, coupled with constant qualification for the CL in the future we would guarantee in the region of 50-55k per gate, therefore WHL would need to be redeveloped again i personally don't think there's enough room @ the Lane and though it pains me to say i think our future may lay away from our sprital home, maybe Picketts Lock it's huge and we could develope 60-65k stadium there.

I'd be happy with the Lane growing to 45/50k.

Any increase in capacity would be a positive move, but i feel around 60k should be the target if we are to compete on a level footing with the Bigger Clubs.

its great to say these things while we're on the up, but then there may (god forbid) be a time when we're like A Villa playing in a half full stadium week in/ out or Sheff Wed where the cobwebs make more noise than the fans
eg when the scum lose Henry, theyll struggle to do CL each season and their so called fans will lose their shirts and find better things to spend their dirty money on and Beirut will be half full for most games , apart from when we go there to trash it again.
So we have to balance the crowd figures now with what may be needed in the future so as not to be left with egg on our faces .
At the mo spurs are on a roll, in 5 years time Jol may be manager of Holland and spurs may be on a slump, will we still fill 50k +?

we should at least have a ground with the capacity of 50k, but it would be nice to have about 55-60k.

Stadia can be too big with the players looking like ants. St james park visitors section springs to mind. 55k is about right so the majority get a sensible view and would be filled most weeks.

We need a stadium that could take up to 60,000 anymore and it would be to big to fill everyweek that's why I did not agree with people who suggested we enquire about the new Wembley ( if it ever gets finished ).
