Quite simply .... No.

Its the rules, it will bite us on the arse if we let him play. There is a lack of sentiment in football, but bollox if we should start it.

Let him watch in the stands.

Tell you what, if Pompey give us a 3 goal start, he can play

if we did let him play it would be an absolutely ridiculous decision. he is there best player by a mile and would just be senseless to let him line up

Just say to Pompey,"yeah he can play but it'll cost you".

No. It's a standard rule even if it isn't totally fixed in this particular competition - too much of a conflict of interest. What if he scores an own goal and we get thrown all kinds of dodgy accusations at us?

Thats what I thought, I didn't believe it was a different rule depending on what competition it was. And you know if you let him play, he is going to score against us

The giant flaw in that accusation is that an OG would potentially stop him playing in an FA Cup Final. Since he was keen for Fulham to win so he could play in a semi-final, it would make him some kind of a triple agent.

Also very far fetch and something that just isn't in his character.

Seems like he's totally out for himself to me!

I certainly lost some respect for him.

Through reported observation, I imagine.

Everyone's out for themself, you'd be a fool to do anything different.

You've only lost respect for him because you've got your head stuck up the arse of the club, sucking out Spurs turds.

Here is the news. Spurs isn't the world. Players are entitled to put their ambitions, happiness and desires ahead of the club.

In other news, firemen rescued a cute kitten stuck up a tree. Unfortunately, they ran over and killed it as they were driving off.

Thats ****ing bollocks. I SLATED the club when they removed Jol - (see thread 'the club is a disgrace) and now I'm slating JOH cos he's acting like and arrogant little brat

'I WANNA PLAY AT WEMBLEY WAH WAH WAH'

**** HIM!

He's not acting like an arrogant brat, he's acting like a young player who's thinking about what would most benefit his career.

Chance of starting a game for Spurs? Taken.

Spurs bench but chance of coming on? Taken.

Spurs squad but chance of being on the bench? Taken.

That's how it is.

I'd feel sorry for you, GS, if as a Spurs fan and a player with some quality, you'd take any shit from Spurs, and then willingly s***k your career down the toilet.

I love Spurs but I don't expect anyone to f**k their own life up for it.

If anything its refreshing that he just wants to play football on the big occassion...so it is more than just the money with JOH.

You're talking out of your arse

JAMES O'HARA IS STILL AN EMPLOYEE OF TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR FOOTBALL CLUB!!! WHAT PART OF THAT DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND

He is ON LOAN to Portsmouth. They are BORROWING him, we have LEANT him to them out of the goodness of our hearts. That's like me lending you some money, that money belongs to me and eventually I'll want it back!

IF, and I do say IF O'Hara was an employee of Pompey, if we had sold him to them in January instead of loaning him out, then he could unload gallons of his jizz onto a Spurs shirt and defecate on the club crest while pissing on a picture of Bill Nick! He can do what he likes once he's left the club

As someone who still contractually belongs to Tottenham, he has no right to chuck the toys out of his pram just because he's not playing at Wembley

He bitched in 2008 when he didn't get named in the squad, at the time I thought that showed a want, a desire and I respected that...but did he really think he'd make the team? He'd done well but it was his rookie season with us as a first team player, he was never realistically making that squad, but all the same, Harry remembered this, played him in the 09 final and he goes and misses the penalty - don't get me wrong, he was brave enough to take one - but in the big pressure moment - he failed and Ramos's judgement proved spot on a year earlier.

The point is he has played at Wembley already along with UEFA cup matches, he's done a lot more than other 23 year olds have and if he really thinks playing for a club in administration, a club that is selling their players left right and centre, a club that is probably the biggest embarrasment in European football, if he thinks that club are worthy of his loyalty than he's dumber than he looks. He is a Spurs fan, or so he claims, so you do your duty for the club thats loaning you WITHOUT ruffling the feathers of your parent club

You can feel sorry for me if you want, but I'd say the same about anyone who spoke out of turn in that way. Players have got to behave.

Clough would have tanned the little shits hide.

Even talking out of my arse I make more sense than you.

You look after yourself first, not a football club that is essentially owned by Joe Lewis, a guy playing the markets from the Bahamas.

WHAT PART OF THAT DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND?

I THOUGHT I'D PUT IT IN BLOCK CAPITALS BECAUSE YOU SEEM TO THINK IT MUST MAKE AN IMPRESSION, SO I IMAGINE IT WILL ON YOU.

Of course it doesn't, you end up looking like a t**t, one with nothing worth listening to hear.

Moving back on topic.

Harry's said he doesn't mind, but I'm not sure its his call. Levy will quietly and subtly say no, I reckon.

Meanwhile, Grant has said he guarantees he won't score. Not sure I trust that. Odd.

It was a real surprise reading that this morning, as everyone seemed to think he couldn't play against us. I think Levy will leave Harry to make the call and not try to overrule him.

You have to say that if we're relying on JOH not playing to beat Pompey, then we don't deserve to make the final.

No sense in adding to the degree of difficulty though. I really like O'Hara and I'm not begrudging him wanting to play at all, but we're Spurs, we'll make these final games hard enough on our own.

By the way I totally agree with GS on this thread.
The fans come first (hahahah) , the club second, the players third, especially in loan cases where we are likely paying a fair chunk of JOH wages

Think Harry said no this morning. But isn't it fairly common to put a clause in a loan deal that prevents the player in question from appearing against his employing club in a competitive match? Shouldn't it already be determined?

There's an interview on the Sky Sports site after the Pompey game where he said he wouldn't agree to it. It's hard to imagine any manager being willing to give an advantage to an opposing team.

Harry is no mug, this is what we have to remember. He knows he will be rinsed out like old briefs if he agrees and O' Hara contributes to us going out. The fact that Jamie said he wanted us to lose will have a bearing on his decision too.

Hreidarsson and Webber both out for 6 months for Pompey. Probably means that half of their bench is going to be youngsters.
