This eases a little pressure of if Wigan get something from the Liverpool game. But we still have City and Villa to worry about

As good as Wigan have been, their work rate off the ball has been simply immense, Liverool have been woeful. Ball retention has been shit, Gerrard looks lost at sea, lost count of the amount of times he has misplaced a pass.
They honestly dont deserve top 4 and I hope that their industrious form of late proves to be not enough.
Lets hope Rafa doesn't phone Martin Oneill for advice on an inspirational half time team talk!

think we can safely say that the condition of the pitch portrays the type of team that wigan play(only home games).
it was a great performance.
we need to make sure that there is a gap that liverpool will struggle to make up now.

Rafa just looked like he had given up in his interview...lol.
We need to make sure we beat Blackburn, but thats a game I am nervous about- given our injury problems. I sincerely hope that at least Defoe is ok...we cant afford to lose any more pace from the side.

I like this post from a Liverpool fan! lol..:
Absolute shocking display there. Can't say I'm surprised. There's no excuse losing to a team Spurs beat 9-1. We really don't deserve 4th place, I'm afraid. Masch was decent I thought. Carra, Gerrard and Torres looked incredibly frustrated and ironically it was Mascherano, who allegedly had his head turned by Barca, was the only one who showed like he gave a ****. There was a moment during the 90th minute when Stevie stole the ball off a fellow team mate and passed it right back to Wigan. We'll be lucky to finish 5th at this rate. I am really sad

9-1 isn't relevant. 3 nil is, but then we got an easy offside goal, and the pitch was a ploughed field that caused them more problems than us.
Generally I believe fans know shit. I heard one opinion that the players(Pool) don't give a damn about the club, based on tonight's display. It's moronic, based on frustration from the football, and it tells you nothing about the players or the club.

Thanks for this post ! Music to my ear's !
Wigan 1-0 Liverpool
Liverpool's hopes of qualifying for the Champions League suffer a setback at Wigan as the struggling Latics punish an insipid display.

I found it funny not necessarily an accurate account of where they are at!
But I agree, its totally borne out of frustration. But is it really knee jerking given the season they have had? More like the climax if you ask me, it totally epitomised much of their season - with more misplaced passes.
IMO Liverpool have been lucky over the last 2 months or so, in this suppossed 'turning a corner'. They have showed grit which has got them through and kept them in the hunt, but have never really clicked into gear. Even last weekend they were fortunate against Blackburn, and this was coming for me. Of course they are still bang in there, but the problem is, for them anyway, they dont look like getting it together. Rafa could of selected a more offensive side, why he persists is just beggers belief.
Gerrard has had a mediocre season by his standards, and for me he has suffered more than anyone with the loss of Alonso.
