Shame about Dixon would have been nice to see 15-20 minutes of him in action. However being selfish it's good for us keano isn't playing, hopefully
he'll be raring to go for the Bolton game.

After their pre-season form I think it will be Berbatov and Defoe starting the season. Personally I see no reason for Defoe not to start the first game, he's been electric in pre-season.

Hate to see Keane injured hope its not for long, however it will give Berby and Defoe another chance to gel against Bolton, Defoe is on fire and deserves to be in the team.

I believe Keanes out for 10 days according to teletext and therefore he will miss the first game for sure. It will give defoe and Berby a chance but who do we have for cover that can change the game if things are not going as planned. think we need a good backup striker b4 the deadline.

its a shame about Keane and Dixon. keane's sounds like little more than a knock, Dixon's sounds like it could be a persistant problem which is never good and it would have been great to see him in action for a while.
anybody know if Reid is back yet???

I like that. There was something about Sheffield wanting him for 4 million this morning?

I was really looking forward to seeing the Irish Rooney in action. Actually the English Rooney is partly Irish too.

Sell! Quick! Can't see it myself - I think the (reported) £7mm we spent on him and Dawson is likely to end up as £6.5mm for Daws, £500k for Reid.
