It's so good to see Chelski lose the first trophy. It gives everybody hope that it's not the billions of dirty money can buy success.
Let's do them in the league. COYS.

They looked shit really. Shevchenko scored a trademark goal, but beyond that they looked poor.

They always look shit, but they usually grind the results out and as you said they have players like Shevchenko who can turn a game on their own.
I don't think the charity match means much, and they aren't fully sharp and fit, which of course Mourinho was at pains to point out. Liverpool look good though, they're certainly title challengers, but I think they probably need one more good striker.

Really poor turn out by the chelscum fans. They obviously think the community shield is below them. The scousers turned out in their usual numbers and played their part.

Is it possible you have link to his goal ? I am just curious to how dangerous he will be in the premiership.

It's amazing how Chelsea can spend so much money and then have to grind out results! They looked baaaad defensively, no width and below par generally. Not sure how well they will do this year - definately top 5, but judging by today this years Prem is going to be very close!

Sadly i can't find one, but it was very well taken goal. A sign of what he'll do given the chance.

glad we didn't buy kalou, i thought he was overated in holland, and showed nothing much today. liverpool played really well without gerrard and the guy on the left looks promising. i think they will finish above man u.

BTW, I would just like to point out to everyone who said we shouldn't buy Bellamy just how good a player he is, as demonstrated today (and in the home Spurs-Blackburn game last season).

Bellamy's a class act, I was pissed off Liverpool signed him when we would've had a chance otherwise. He's apparently a pool fan which meant he was always going to go there.
I always rated him, and like Keano all the potential really started to come out last year. QUALITY player. Devastating pace, good on the ball, good finisher.

well we know chelski have got the manpower and quality but even when they have been winning the league comfortably they havent struck me as a unit .
same problem yesterday , couldnt dictate the pace of the game , no natural flow ,and looked very disjointed . but ominously they werent outclassed by a good liverpool team and you get the feeling that if they can ever get these guys in a set formation , where the actual system not the players dictate the style then they are going to be very good.
but yeah great to see them loose .
on a somewhat worrying note for england though , it seemed that gerrard may be starting to believe all his own hype , he seemed too mcuh to be trying always for the killer ball , the fancy trick , the outside of the boot crosspitch pass , rather than sometimes opting for the simple and more effective option. i saw this in the world cup a bit and ok this game didnt really count but i think it needs to be addressed by benitez or maclaren
shevchenko looked what he is , a class striker and looks what chelsea have been missing a 25-30 goal league scorer.

Neither team make my knees buckle with fear. We will beat both teams at home. A bold statement but it's what I think, lastly why the fuc not Tottenham, we have the talent and the coaching to do something special this year. Believe

i think we could go close, but we need an attacking left winger for a start. the other thing that might hold us back is that we have many new players who need to get used to us and the prem. i think if we can consolidate 5th we've had a good year. I remember us giving it a lot of long ball at the start of last season, as i think jol wanted teams to have to break us down as a unit, and couldn't expect our players to gel and adapt too quickly. I hope we don't get carried away and think we can play through teams, as i'm sure it won't happen much this side of xmas.
as for bellamy, i think he's a very good player but has injury problems. i also don't really see him as someone who can play off crouch. maybe that will be fowlers job.
