for those who haven't seen it
Former Spurs captain Gary Mabbutt has praised chairman
Daniel Levy and the board of Tottenham Hotspur saying they
also deserve credit for this season.
He said: 'The team really has surpassed most supporters'
expectations and I think the management team and the players
deserve all the credit. But I also think a lot of praise must go to
the board because they have backed the manager to the hilt.
They have gone after the players he wanted and made money
available to him when it has been needed. The board don't
make a lot of noise and although many people are quick to
point the finger when things are not going so well, the board do
not seem to get the credit they deserve for the way things are
shaping up at present.'
Adding:
'I think the club is in a very healthy state from the boardroom
right down to the dressing room and that is fantastic.'
He also says where we finish is up to Spurs: 'Our destiny is in
our own hands and if the players respond to the challenge then
we have a great chance.' Also spelling out the importance of
the Champions League to the chances of signing further top
class players.
