i often wonder why in prem league we dont se many players trying their hand(padon the pun) on the opposite side to their favored side, right footed players playing on the left, they seem to be realy uncomfortable.. if we look at spain italy brazil argentina france etc we regularly se good tecnical players trying their luck on either side..spain france and holland show many examples of this..for us we could see lennon and routledge playing down the sides...and in the world cup we could of seen shaun wp and arron on the wings for england..im sure it would reap benefits. instead the opposition know where to expect penetration, down the right wing in englands and spurs case.

Very few players are good with both feet, a right winger on the left will cut in all the time, or will have to cut back onto his right to cross the ball. You can see it with Cole for England, constantly cutting in onto his right.

right footers cant play that well on the left because they arent left footed, simply as

Aside from the obvious fact that a player on the "wrong" side has to cut back before delivering the ball, the fact that the continentals can do so more effectively is that their games are much slower and whoever is on the wrong flank can hhave the time to cut back; whereas in the typical British game, the wide player need to be running at top speed even on the wrong flank, and that makes it so much harder to stop and to switch the ball over to the proper foot.

HENRY GOES ALL THE WAY DOWN THE WING, so does ronaldinho, messi on other wing, maradona against england, ajak utilise it well, zidane used to for madrid, craig belemy does it well, remember chris waddle. were did he play? and how well did he use the ball had no great speed, but knew the ball, and where the line was...and also ribery and ronaldo.. just have confidence in their skills and ball control.. essentially it is possible.
