View Full Version : Dawson in, Defoe back, Beckham out

Michael Dawson has been called up to the England squad for the friendly against Greece! Also, Defoe has been recalled, and Beckham has been left out, and now has to "fight for his place".

Should be a clear indication that it's time for Lennon to rip the international stage, however SWP is also recalled. No actual word on Lennon, not sure if he's in, expect him to be though.

I think Aaron will be in the U-21's purely to give SWP a fair crack at the whip.

What pleased me is that Venners is back and although McClaren is the manager, Terry's still the main man.

As for the squad good to see Fender Bender Campbell is history, Beckham may make a comeback somewhere along the line, but the future is bright, the futures yiddo.

Is it just me or is McLaren seemingly doing exactly what the press want?
Darren Bent is also in the squad! Beckham dropped....

SWP's inclusion is completely unjust. How can you pick a player who's not playing? It's complete bullshit. I know it's a new season and all; but he's probably forgotten what it's like to play regular football! Still, I like him, think he's a good player, shame he got conned into signing for the Russians. (which I still think was just so no-one else could have him)

I think he wants to give him (SWP) the chance he never really got under that Cock Happy Swedish Prick. True he's not played much for Chelski but i think you may see him feature a lot more this season, but he did himself no favours moving to Chelski in the 1st place unless he was purely money motivated.

It's on the official site; Lennon's in, also Jenas, and obviously Robbo.

He may well be doing what the press want, or he might just see like the rest of us that Beckham is now shit.

I actually think it's quite astute to include players like Bent & Defoe. It's like saying 'okay you got screwed for the World Cup, prove you were right to go'.

Also one thing disproves the appeasing the press theory........ the inclusion of Phil Neville.

Wishful thinking now, he's going to rot in the Chelski reserves!

It's great to have 5 players in the squad, and i'm just hoping that Lennon will establish himself in the starting 11.
