have heard modric is back in light training, when he is fully fit i would like to see him given a run in centre midfield along with wilson, maybe for the first few games ease him back in on left midfield but when back to full fitness play him in the centre with palacios holding, let modric take them game by the scruff of the neck and get involved all over the park, cannot see the problem if we play a 4-4-2 formation, it's not like our full backs corluka and bae are attacking and overlap so there is no need to cover those areas, would like to see bale or dos santos given a run on the left hand side to see what they produce otherwise i feel we will let 2 little rough diamonds leave us without giving them a fair shot.

I think we hit on a terrific formula with Modric on the left towards the end of last season, and we carried that form into this season. He is at his most effective when cutting in from that flank and linking up play in a Joe Cole fashion. I would just like to see him get more goals.

I agree in keeping Bale, but would like to see him supplant JJ in the centre with Palacios to be honest. I think he has all the attributes of a Gerrard or Robson to truly shine in that role.

Gio is really a forward / winger type player who should either be playing off the striker or on the right hand side of a front 3. If Pav leaves, Robbie fails to rediscover his form and goes to Celtic as rumoured, I'd be playing Gio behind Defoe.

I think Pavlyuchenko is a certain to leave in January, He'll go back to Russia in my opinion, Zenit or Spartak. I agree that once he does then Gio will definately be brought into the squad permanently, Really would enjoy seeing more of this lad, Like Taarabt he hasn't really had enough chances.

yeah his passing ability is good, got a quality shot on him at times too. For me he only seems to last up until the 70th minute then becomes lazy and it really starts to show

Cut a long story short. He can pass the ball. That is it. Useless lazy and stupid, not what I'd call having the potential to be a top top player. Would look awesome in Serie A, awful in the EPL.

P.s. Modric is approx 6 weeks away from playing still.

Gio has never played that role and I don't see him being at all effective playing behind Defoe. It's also a tactic Harry doesn't use. I wouldn't be at all surprised if a decent offer for him sees him leave in January.

On a related note, confirmation that Taara won't be returning at the end of his loan, as he wants to play nearer home.

Couldn't agree more with this. I think Modric needs to be allowed to roam with Palacios holding. He's good on the left cutting in but he still has to cover BAE too much as BAE does get forward sometimes. I think if we allowed Modric more space, he would get goals and he'd be everywhere on that pitch. We do have players like Bale and Dos Santos to be given a chance on the left, even Tarrabt one day as he's done that for QPR alot
