Until they scored and King let Van pervie in, I felt King was awesome but he soon ended up having a poor game.
For me its out of Bassong and Gomes.
Palacios and Hudd were shit.
Crouch did fvck all.
Keane is not a left winger but didn't help with the first goal.

Goalkeeper prevented a drubbing we couldn't complain about.
The rest of the team should hang their heads for that disgusting second goal.

Definitely Gomes. A few players did put in a shift but we have the same old problem - playing solidly for a long period and then collapsing in a few minutes.
Crouch looked a danger in the first half, but then suffered from the monotony of too many long balls.

I voted Crouch, he just seemed to win every ball in the air with his head most of the match.

Crouch? He lacks so much in his game! Arsenal weren't even troubled by him.

The only support I see Crouch get was from a Gomes goal kick most of the game. Can't remember any of our midfielders feeding the ball to any of our strikers today.

Come off it, every ball we had was lumped forward to Frankensteins monster! to no avail cos Vermaelen is too cultured to let Crouch do him.

They were all pretty shit except for Gomes and Bassong. Gomes takes it for me. Bentley, Palacios and Huddlestone were exceptionally shit, Assou-Ekotto could have done better with the first goal, Corluka and Jenas were just about average, Keane non-existent, but on the left so it's harder to criticise. Crouch didn't have much to go on but he was ineffective.

The first thing that came to my head when I saw Pavlyuchenko come on for Keane was ''oh f*cking great theres more''

If you click on the number of votes you can see who voted. It was Choda btw.

The same question I was asking, but then think of someone who finds it wholly unfitting that Keane should have been subbed, and then you will have your answer.

Well, I just mean that he played about 12 minutes of the shittest game in our season.

A Keane protest, the Spurs equivalent of when IRA prisoners used to cover the walls of their cells with their own excrement. It makes sense, he's often full of shit.

I couldn't give it to anyone else and he actually did pretty well when he came on.
Maybe Bassong or Gomes deserved a shout, but Bassong was so so and Gomes made a rick for the third despite the save of the season first half.

oh and why has Bassong escaped criticism. He dived in stupidly to tackle fabregas when he should be running back with him. He should also have been in the front post area as the left sided cb to cover the cross. So he played a major part in 2 stupid goals we conceded and still gets praised:thumbdown:
Everyone was shit apart from Gomes.
Ledley, Bassong, Huddlestone and Bentley reallly let the team down today.

Whole side lacked belief but Corluka, Bassong and Crouch also did themselves credit.

Bassong/Charlie were the only defenders who can hold their heads up. King cost us two goals, it wasn't Bassong.

Like I said an honest mistake.
My criticism of Bassong still hands however. For the first goal Bassong as the left sided cb should be covering the front post area. He was no where to be seen.

Debatable. Palacios cost us the 2nd, King and Gomes another faulty communication for the 3rd. The 1st looked an incredible goal, a piece of brilliance. I wouldn't blame anyone for that.
I'm a big critic of Gomes but thought he looked exceptional today. Commentator tried to slag him off for not coming earlier for the save from Eduardo today, which I thought was perfect, didn't commit himself and stood strong.

I can't say i've studied the goals but from what I remember King let Van Persie runs across him for the first goal.
I thought Gomes handling was exceptional today and his saves especially at 0.0 one he made was brilliant. I rate the fella and I honestly feel we can't do any better.

Same here. Maybe I need to analyse the goals but the first one did look preventable.

And Benni could have tried a lot harder to prevent the cross. He was way too slow and didn't get close enough to Sagna.

They're all preventable, then we'd all be complaining about watching perfect nil/nil draws.
Did anyone watch the game and see it coming? Apart from the liars, I mean.
It was a brilliant goal, and I stand by that, sheer class from RVP. Some criticism of Gomes, and as his biggest critic I thought that was complete shite.

Don't think Gomes had a great game but I went for him. Can't really say any of the goals were his fault. The defending on all three was atrocious. I feel dirty voting after that display though. Perhaps we should have a loser of the match poll too, although it'd be a tough choice after that game.

Sagna was given far too much time and space, but RVP's movement got him in front of his man and got his boot to it. Lamentable, but that's how he's managed 9(?) goals this season.
I've gone for Gomes, because if not for a few top saves it could have been alot worse.

Crouch was probably the beat outfield player, but that wouldn't be hard. You know whats funny GS, when Crouch was banging in hat tricks and getting the winner against Brum when he came on - not a word from you. You just wouldn't give the credit as all summer you banged on about how bad he is. Just sitting and waiting for your opportunity to slag him!!!

What an insightful post. How about you actually look at what crouch has REALLY contributed. He has turned us into a LONG BALL team.

Carew is only 2 inches shorter than Crouch, but no one thinks Villa play long balls to him all the time. If Crouch demanded that the ball be lumped up to him, criticisms of his influence might be valid, but heading is the least of his strengths, and he needs some players with pace around him so he can receive it and play it forward.
