I think the sides to avoid are City and Villa. With no Europe, like ourselves, they will field strong sides as shown this week.
As long as we get a home draw I will be happy. Blackburn or Pompey at home would do nicely, even United actually. Goons and Chelsea would also set up a nice QF providing its at WHL.
City away would be horrible.

Arsenal at home. I'd fancy another morale destroying battering of their youngsters if we played them at the Lane.

Arsenal or Man utd at home, they both will play weakend sides so this would be a great opportunity to get one of them out.
Chelsea to draw Villa away would be great.

Naturally the easier the draw the better, so I guess Pompey or Blackburn would be nice. But I agree that we may as well get one of the favourites out of the way now while they're fielding weakened sides, as opposed to in the final when they'll put a stronger team out.
(To be fair though, I wouldn't fancy meeting Chelsea's 2nd team either)

That will do nicely. But I got a feeling we will get City.

I agree, & disagree with Apples. We have no Europe & need to keep Fringe players like Bale games & need the League Cup. A home draw against Blackburn or Pompey is best. Man City field the strongest teams but Chelsea still put decent teams out & after 2 years ago I think Wenger would be forced to put a better team out against us.

I'd take United, Pompey, Villa or Blackburn at home. Villa just doesn't really scare me. Maybe they should, but their squad is so small that they don't really appear to turn up for midweek cup matches.

Anything really, I fancy it and I fancy us in this competition. Chelsea away would be the worst draw because there are fielding near full strength like we will.
Anything else is fine for me.

I'd prefer to meet them in the semis because there is more chance of them losing their young heads over 180 minutes than 90 minutes and getting totally smashed. :santaclaus:

Arsenal at home.
We will give Arsenal's defence no respite, our fluent and attacking football will see us take a stranglehold on the match and we'll thrash them again.
We'll beat the scum 5-1
