i voted best btw , truely fantastic player obviously , but to see him perform on a crap surface , with a crap heavy waterlogged ball , and just dance round the opposition , superb .

i was torn between him and pele , ok all the greats had defenders trying to kick lumps out of them , but protection has got better slowly , and conditions and fitness knowledge all vastly superior to what they had available to them in their hayday , so for that reason i have picked them above maradona , and ronaldhinio

puskas , heard great things about him but never seen any footage so cant say ,

cruyff one of my favourite players ever , but i think best and pele had a better all round game than him

barry daines well there was that one time ........

voted pele.. Simply the best.. Once thought that Roonaldo had the potential to become the greatest ever, but ****ed it up.. Maybe Ronaldinho has the talent, time will tell..

Pele. It's unquestionable. The bloke's record is something like 1200 goals in 1500 games. Unreal.

I know someone's going to say "he wouldn't get that many in today's game", but he is the best striker the World has seen.

I can't believe i'm the only person to vote for Maradona.
Is it because of the hand of god that the English cannot admit
he was the greatest player ever despite being an overweight coke head.

But i would say Maradona then Best

Where is Di Stefano in all of this?

Where is Di Stefano in all of this?

have to put him under a.n other , like puskas never saw him play , and i guess most others havent . that is the problem with these polls , the older guys havent got the t.v footage to back up some fine records , and so there are many great players that are forgotten when considering the worlds best , but we can only judge on our experience .

I doubt in all my respect to you , how many matches of Pele you have watched? I think the best player nowdays is Riquelme , cuz of his creativity , and he touch the ball like am touch my gf , lol

Yes, I smell a 'hand of god' conspiracy against Maradona. I already stated in an old thread what I think about him. For me, nobody else comes close.

As for Pele's goal record, it was pretty amazing alright, but take into account Romario at the age of 38 scored 73 in one season in Brazil. It's pure nutso over there.

He would have been better at centre forward than Rasiak when Mido was away. Would then have been playing today in the CL qualifyer.
