I knew they were going to be in trouble today against a good side without Torres and Gerrard.
We have a real chance of finishing ahead of them because their squad is shite outside the team.

To early to tell at this moment, Man City will have the final say imo.

The problem is Gerrard and Torres wont be missing every week - pitty cos they really arn't the same side without them.

I would bet my house on City finishing in the top 4.

Well I was only talking about finishing ahead of them. In many ways I think City are going to be more of a problem. I'm optimistic we can turn over Liverpool because I think there are areas of that team that are questionable and the squad outside the team is rubbish. I think they are in big trouble this year, I really do.
Arsenal, City and Spurs are all a big problem for them. And one of us might pip Arsenal. I think it will be very tight between the four teams for 3rd and 4th. Arsenal are bound to struggle at times because they still don't have a great spine. Varmaelan has improved them a bit but the dm is poor and they are a very small side on set pieces. Don't fancy Almunes either.

I wouldn't, I think it will be very tight for 3rd and 4th and I reckon it's anyones guess at the moment. City still questionable at the back and Hughes still has to prove he is as good as his counterparts going for the same goals. All the teams going for 3rd and 4th have question marks over them. In many ways we have the least areas of concern.
When we get another midfielder in January we will be setup and hard for anyone. I hope we are still third by that point and we are going to be a right handful.

Who should claim this goal The Red Balloon or Bent?:alberteinstein:
Should that goal be disallowed?, LOL, pitch invasion.
The culprit caught red handed.

Why not?
Tell me what is missing apart from another great midfielder alongside Wilson?
And I can name you numerous holes or problems in the others, aside from ManU and Chelsea.
Ps. Don't arrive at my door with flowers unless you are actually a hot young twenty something female, preferably blond.
You are welcome to arrive with a six pack though (beer I mean, not abs :lollypop: :puke:).

 I love how it was a Liverpool balloon - some scouse tit knows that it was him that blew it up, or threw it on the pitch, and that that goal and the defeat is down to him

Well I do share your optimism actually, I just have had my hopes crushed so many times. I agree we are one good midfield player away from really mounting a challenge. I still feel we have done well without Modric, we have coped quite well but I cant wait for the little guy to return - he completes our approach and attacking play.
Our next four games are:
Stoke at home
Scum away
Sunderland home
Wigan home
I really think we should take 9/10 points there, and if Modric is back I certainly expect that kind of return, what do you think? Although Sunderland might be quite tricky and could easily end up a draw.

See my edit below btw.
I think we can win all those games to be honest and scum away holds no fear for me.
9 or 10 would see us still in a title challenge.
We are actually still in a title challenge btw. Nice feeling and quite new I have to say. never felt it before, lol. :santaclaus:

I know its weird lol. We have also scored two headers from corners in successive weeks, Charlie and Ledley. Niko has a very good delivery on him, I see us scoring more from set pieces this year which adds even more to our game.

Same thing happened with City away in the cup to Sheff Utd a few years ago with a City balloon. Sometimes fans are their own worst enemy.

They just showed him on SSN at HT looking very glum. :dong:
It looked a rather light beach ball, and it seems a very odd thing to want to propel on to a pitch. Even balloons seem pretty dumb. I can understand at the last game of the season, or for a game that celebrates some kind of anniversary, but it seems misguided otherwise.

Yea, in a serious one, but we've played what ten games now and we are three off the top, not out of it. Still in the title challenge, but yea a serious tilt is still within reach in January, not October or November.
If we get to January three off the top it would be magic. Get this Brazilian international in (Has Harry ever gotten a big money signing wrong?) and we could be upsetting all the big teams.
And I don't think it is blind optimism when I look at the facts. I think more things are wide open this year than many years past. On paper there are six teams that can win the league or even go close. In reality it is probably only two this year, but you never know.

They really are rubbish when you take out Gerrard and Torres. 'WHERE is the quality', is what I was saying today. What an awful team they had out. You'd be lucky to finish 10th with that team, seriously.
My brother won a ton thanks to that kid today, lol. He backed Sunderland to win as soon as he saw the teams yesterday (odds plummeted within an hour), Spurs to win and Arsenal to score three (nearly always dismantle the poor sides). Good judgement.

Apparently the red beach ball goal should NOT have stood, this is according to some ex referees, the reason being that the deflection was off an outside agent interfering with play.

I would agree, it looks like three through six are really up for grabs. This is why I like Levy, he's kept us profitable and responsible, we can afford to add a player in Jan. That may be what separates the lot of us come the end of the season.

But what's an outside agent and where does it end?
Deflecting off a spectator that ran out or a streaker like that blond that smacked a great shot into the net are clearly interfering.
But you see balloons on the pitch all the time and a ball going through them.
Personally I've always found things like balloons during a game and extra whistles to be f*cking retarded and very annoying, especially whistles.
And that wasn't just a balloon, it was some kind of half balloon half beach ball.
Here's a noval idea: how about no balloons allowed before a game and anyone caught using a whistle is banned from football.

LOL, sounds like something from a Bond film or MI5, where does it end?, is the million dollar question.

Understand where you're coming from, unfortunately some rules are there to cause further confusion within the sport.
