A bit of a let down if you ask me, but we are going back for Mido, another loan deal as I understand.

got no problem with him being on loan, give us a chance to loan barney out and increase his value.

I've read this too, is it 100%?
I'm quietly happy about it.....

Well I got told last night, but now that the Chimbo deal seems dead...I think the Club have several targets in mind, obviously certain players will be higher up the list of priority than others, so if someone else suddenly became available...who knows.
Was just wondering, has his 15 shirt been taken yet?

I like Mido - I always thought he cared about Spurs and found genuine football happiness after a turbulant spell of behaviour and clubs. I would welcome him back with open arms.

If true, and if he understands the position and still wants to swallow his pride and come back, thengood for all concerned. And it will also showed that he has really matured and is ready to buckle down and try to earn playing time.

I wouldn't say he'd have to swallow his pride; I mean he did say he didn't want to leave, and that he was told he wasn't going to be signed up. If anything, I think he'd probably be delighted at coming back here. And it would be like he was never gone.

Hope you're right mate, as we'll have the best front-line in the Premiereship.

Keane, Defoe, Berbatov and Mido....I seem to remember talking about this a month or two ago before we knew he'd left!

It would be one of the best striking forces in the world. Would feel a bit sorry for Barney though, he's to work really hard to make the grade and a chance to prove his worth..

Glad I'm not the only one.
As i said to you a few months ago
when Mido was linked to Blackburn. He's a great target man
& would ba an asset to any club.
The prospect of 4 top strikers really really excites me!!!!

I would be happy to see him back as long as he is willing to sit on the bench when left out, and not throw his toys out of the pram.

i would love to re-sign Mido, he was fantastic for us last season and my favourite player for us last year, bar keano of course. the coombination of keane & Mido seemed to work really well and as it appears Berbie & Defoe have gelled better than berbie & keane it could all work out for the best. COME BACK MIDO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How can you say Berbie & Defoe have gelled better than Berbie & Keane? How many games has Keane started with Berbie? I don't he's started any or maybe one.
I'd bet my house that Keane and Berbie will be a better partnership.

Good players have a tendency to gel with one another quickly, and all our 3 strikers are good players, if not great. So I see no problem with any 2 from 3 or all 3 playing together.

Is it possible that Mido could be an option for the left wing...?
Chinaman
4th August 2006, 11:21 PM
Think he has a weaker left foot. If that is so, don't really think he can play wide on left. I'd really like to have Babel. Just read on BBC that Ribery wants out, but unfortunately he also stated he wants CL as well, so that rules us out.

Mido is left footed though...
Chinaman
4th August 2006, 11:27 PM
Strange though because the times I saw him on TV he seemed to hit the ball better with his right, and on a couple of occasions, wasted good chances by striking the ball quite tamely with his left. That led me to think he's right-footed. But of course watching TV could be quite misleading.

Mido's a target man, I can't imagine him playing well on the wing.
Spur
4th August 2006, 11:30 PM
No I can't imagine it either, I was just interested in others opinions.
And i'm quite sure that Mido is left-footed, of course I could be wrong, but i'm somewhat positive.
Chinaman
4th August 2006, 11:31 PM
On a few occasions last season when he drifted out wide on the right, he posed quite a threat. But as I said, watching TV is not quite the same.

It wasn't a literal offer mate!:)
But I do think you were being extremely pre-mature. And my bet comes from the observation that Keane plays better with everyone than Defoe and I'd expect that to continue.

I saw a few goals from Mido's Dutch days on the web when we signed him, he scored them all with his left.

Come home Mido! We aint gonna get a better 4th striker, especially for the minimal outlay he would cost us(loan or 3m).More money in the pot for a quality LW.

Chinaman... Mido is left-footed, but he uses his right just as good for dribbling and shooting (except volleys). He did play as a left winger for a whole season (his second at Ajax until he was loaned to Celta Vigo). He also played as a left-winger for the six months he played with Roma, and he was very good at it. Excellent runs on the flank.
The 4 target men sounds too good to be true. I just don't think it'll happen. Especially after Mido said he wants to prove himself in Italy as a striker. It'll be daft for him to return to Spurs bench or as a left wing. Moreover, Spalletti has been speaking nothing but poetry about Mido's training discipline in the last couple of weeks.
