we've accepted £4million for KPB and they want O'Hara on loan. a bit of a shame it didnt work out for KPB as i always thought he had potential but it does seem like a good bit of business. i cant see us letting O'Hara go and wouldnt be happy if we did.

thoughts??

4 million for Prince will be amazing business!! Guy just can't cut it at Spurs. O Hara on loan would be good for his development, but only if he is sure to be coming back. Loans can backfire as players develop feelings for that club.

With KPB going and possible JOH, Does this mean a dip into the market for a midfielder for ourselves????

Harry has said JOH is going on loan to Pompey, and then revealed it will be unlikely that anyone else comes in - think thats a porky for sure!!

Cant see him letting Ohara go without bringing in someone else.

I'm not happy with JoH going, but if it is to get games and a proper run then fair enough. Harry's quotes are spot on in my view, he knows the kid is the type of character you want at your club and has the ability to be a tremendous player.

I think he is letting him go for now because he sees this year as Hudd's last chance here and is also planning to bring in an expensive buy.

But I think like me he sees Jamie as his Fletcher, Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher (with more ability imo) and they've forged great careers.

Interesting to see how Boeteng gets on. He had a few strong games here, he has presence, but he seems a bit slow and ordinary on the ball.

It does leave us a bit thin in midfield with both KPB & O'Hara going to the skates.

I think that harry has one more signing up his sleeve, and my money would go on the Brazilian at Inter Sandro. Failing that the Scott Brown rumours are not going away either.

An interesting end to the transfer window me feels

this could actually be a good move for Jamie

Away from the bright lights and BAD influences that could be turning his head. Perhaps concentrating on football and getting a good run could see him develop as a player. Ifhe turns into a top class player thats great if he doesnt we sell him.

Clever move by Harry.

With O' Hara going out on loan, Chimbonda gone and Bale in his usual injured state, I hope nothing happens to BAE. That is the one position we are totally exposed on in terms of cover.

I haven't seen this O'Hara loan deal anywhere but you're all talking like it's done and dusted? Any links to an article or anything - couldn't find it on OS.

With Jenas coming back, and as Choda has said, Charlie could do a job there,
CM is not a worry. If BAE gets injured tomorrow we have no one.

Still think it will be Petrov...Harry is wheeling and dealing. 4 mil for KPB and 2 mil for chimbo will more than cover a fee for Petrov. Would say Jenas and Hudd will compete to partner Wilson. Petrov cover for Modric and offers us another option from the bench.

Could be Sandro though.

I hope we sign someone, its a long season, perhaps we can recall jamie. As for left backs we are grand bassong is comfortable there, played there at least 5 times for newcastle last season. Also naughton played leftback for sheff utd all last season.

I wonder what offer will be made on wages? I think Petrov is in his last year of getting 60k a week, which was a very generous deal. Perhaps 35k with a lump sum, City can easily afford a pay-off.

Forget Sandro or Sissoko. We don't have the money available. Petrov gives an alternative to Mod on the left, and lets him cover the centre if needed.

Yep something along those lines I would imagine. Definitely a fringe player at City now and can see him wanting the move.

That's what you (or was it still Jrio then?) said in January before we spent £40 million. You also said that Keane and Defoe wouldn't start vs Liverpool. You should stop just stating things as if they are fact when you don't know if they are or not.

I read a quote somewhere, tonight, with Harry saying that Sandro is a possiblity down the road ie not this transfer window.

I would definitely think its going to be Petrov, it all points towards it.

I would say this move means that Jenas is not going anywhere, no matter how long the Villa rumors stick around.

O'Hara seems like a good character guy, somebody who is a professional, a good person to keep around so I hope this loan is just a temporary move and not a prelude to a sale. I actually rate him above Huddlestone, although I'm probably in the minority there.

I'd say Bassong was earmarked as cover as he played there for Newcastle a few times and he is left footed, has the pace and mobility to play there so I'm not too worried to be honest. Plus Naughton and Hutton can be used there, Naughton played there last year, even though it's not ideal when they aren't left footed.

JoH is my second choice behind Corluka to partner Wilson as things stand, though after a look I might not fancy Corluka there. But from how he plays and the glimpses of his central midfield play for city, him saying it is his best position I think he'd be excellent.

But in fairness Hudd is making a fair old good fist of things at present and if he keeps at it you never know he might just make it in midfield, but I'm not holding my breath.

What I will say is I'm definitely more comfortable with him playing instead of Jenas. He's hit and miss a lot of the time but Jenas is overun too in his own way from my point of view anyway and has far less moments that do damage to the opposition.

And I don't think it's a coincidence that runs in the team with Hudd gain more points per game than when Jenas plays.

Jenas + 5 mil for Inter's Muntari

New contract is just so we get more money when we sell him. What will happen in January. If JOH playing well he will stay at Portsmouth & if not he comes back. No mention of us having option to bring back. At end of season JOH will not want to return to the Tottenham bench if getting regular football & will either stay at Pompy if they stay up or be sold. If he fails then he is not the player I thought he was.
I rate JOH highly & whilst not a regular now, can see him as a future tottenham Captain. He has the drive & will that is lacking in others. All he needs is a little more experience & he needs to get that at Tottenham from the bench to shore up a lead, Carling cup matches & to cover injuries. I would prefer him to Naughton on the left. This smacks of Harry helping his old mates out at Pompy & nothing in it for us.

i have to agree with that. yea it will be great for the lad to get a load of games under his belt but hes pretty much the first guy 'arry uses from the bench every game. hes our go-to guy to shore up the middle or the left side when we need to hold onto a result. 'if' bae or modric gets crocked we are struggling, yea bassong-but we hav no other fit cbs, naughton-i don't want a right footed left back. I just think to let joh go when hes a whisker away from a first 11 place is crackers
